"They say that if necessity is the mother of invention, creativity must be the father. To me, that is the difference between clothing and fashion: one is a basic need and the other is art. It is like the cover of a book that beckons a reader to peak inside."
Katelyn's collection: The elegant pastries I saw on a recent trip to Paris inspired my collection. The color palette is luscious browns, rich chocolates, and is accented with hints of candy pinks and meringue whites. My collection would be considered couture, as it has a lot of handwork and details that cannot easily be reproduced. I call these decadent creations - Confection.
What about Fusion are you most excited about? I am looking forward to seeing my collection on the runway. Many of the pieces were designed based on movement and it will be really rewarding to see the ideas come to life from the flat drawings I started with. I can’t wait to see the looks in motion with all the accessories, shoes, hair and makeup creating the complete package. It will be really exciting to see what everyone comes up with, after seeing bits and pieces of the process along the way.
