"Fashion was not always a passion of mine. Growing up in a private school with strict school uniforms, fashion became dull and distant. As I grew older, fashion became more and more interesting to me. It became a way to express myself and an attempt to break away from the uniformity of my childhood. I started to notice trends and little things I liked here and there.
Fashion transformed from and developed into a passion where I began to find inspiration in everything around me and sketch all the time."
Wil's collection: My collection is inspired by traditional clothing of the Middle East. I embraced the idea of the desert and having your entire body covered to protect against the elements. I wanted to make it modern with the color story.
I wanted to bring in the rich jewel tones we are seeing in season now, with the grey colors that will come up soon. My collection has a contrast in the fabrics. I have a lot of heavy wools mixed with textured silk duponi. I wanted to play with a different silhouette and pleating. This is pushing the envelope for me, but it is still my style.
What about Fusion are you most excited about? I am most excited to make new friends, show what I got, and beat Parsons!
