"To me, fashion is everything; it isn't just what you buy in the store or what is on the runway. Jeans on the rack are not just jeans, they are a work of art that someone took time to think out and create. Fashion is my dream and passion, it is what I want to spend my life doing.

I am happiest when walking through a store looking at the clothing, shoes, accessories, etc, or sitting on a bench in the park watching people pass by. Each outfit says something about the person who is wearing it. I also feel that fashion is a connection to my grandmother who passed away because she also found enjoyment in making garments."

Jessica's collection: The collection I designed is very classic and chic with a little bit of a flirty and fun twist. The fabrics range from dark grey, almost black, to white. A whimsical circular embroidered fabric adds more to the flirty fun look while lace reinforces the classic and chic feel I am going for. I wanted to include new twists on a critical piece within a woman’s wardrobe.

For my trench coat, I chose a metallic dark grey and made it quarter sleeved with a slight flair below the buckle to add a flirtier element to this traditional style. One of the dresses is a simple high neck dress with a plunging back that adds an extra kick to it. Another piece is a fun navy blue bubble skirt with suspenders. The line also includes a pair of high waist pants paired with a simple top and a short lace jacket to complete the look. The final piece in the collection is an elegant navy and lace evening gown.

What about Fusion are you most excited about? I am excited about the opportunity that Fusion presents to me. I can't wait to see not only my own creations out on the runway but also everyone else's collections in motion. It is another step towards my dream and I'm excited to prove to myself as well as everyone else that I can do this.
