School and Year: Parsons The New School for Design Sophomore

What is fashion to you? Fashion is life for me. Everything about me is fashion. I live for fashion, from the time I was five years old playing in my mom’s closet with her clothes to going to school and designing my own fashion today. I always knew that one day I would have the opportunity to showcase my talent. This is an opportunity that I don’t want to miss. To have the opportunity to represent Parsons and to wow people is a dream come true. I want be part of the fashion world, be an influential designer that connects people with something new. I want to touch people though my work.

Collection: “The Beautiful Past” - I always wanted to bring my past, heritage, and the beauty of my country to my work. My inspiration comes from elements, motifs, and art that I grew up with. I’m really inspired by the 1910-1920 influences. This is why I choose the looseness and softness combined with a rich century. My customer focus is on the high-end consumer. They are the high society of society that cares about how they look. The age I’m targeting is twenty to fifty years old.

What/who inspires you? I was inspired by the 1920-1920 century.

What does Fusion mean to you? Fusion is my ultimate goal to win the competition for Parsons. I have so much pride in Parsons and it needs to be represented with the best talent. I also hope to be part of something special, a group of the best designers. I want to share my vision and the diversity I can contribute to the competition. I will fight for Parsons to win this competition. I am also looking to gain insight on myself as a designer. I want to know my weaknesses. I want to know my strengths. I want to put myself out there.
